Community Involvement & Giving

Gordon Companies believes in giving back to the community in which we live and work. The Gordon family donates time and resources to numerous non-profits throughout western New York. As the company has grown, so has its participation in local and national causes. Contributions are not limited to financial resources. Our team actively volunteers in making events successful. Our contributions include, but are not limited to:

Kaleida Health Foundation Women’s & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo

Gordon Companies is proud of its active involvement with Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Kaleida Health.

Christmas Central, Northlight and Dave’s Christmas Wonderland sponsor and contribute decorated trees, ornaments, and wreaths to the annual Festival of Trees fundraising event.

The decorated trees are enjoyed by all visitors to the Hyatt Buffalo and auctioned off at an annual gala to benefit the hospital.

Additionally, Gordon Companies donates time and resources to the annual Gotta Have Heart gala to benefit Kaleida Health cardiology services non-invasive diagnostic center at BGMC.

Hospice of Buffalo

Dave’s Christmas Wonderland is proud to partner with Hospice of Buffalo. Hospice provides emotional, spiritual and practical support in addition to professional medical care.

There is a personal connection here as well for the Gordon family. As a trained nurse, Rachel Gordon pioneered unequaled volunteerism and devotion to Hospice patients during her lifetime.

The Gordons honor Rachel through the Rachel Gordon Endowment, which is responsible for; educational programs on the practice of Hospice, palliative care and end-of-life issues, caring for patients and families who are without basic necessities, as well as essential volunteer services that are such an integral component of hospice care.

Food Bank of WNY

Dave’s has a long tradition of donating proceeds on select items to the Food Bank of WNY. Additionally, Dave’s Christmas Wonderland holds a canned food drive at all three locations and participates in a “load the truck” promotion to benefit the Food Bank annually.
